Nice to meet you, I'm Joyce! 

When I'm not staring at stressful spreadsheets for eight hours a day as an auditor, I like making my back problems worse by hunching over my sewing machine and making up cute dresses I have to wait until summer to wear. 

I took over part of my mom's cupboard to hoard all of my baking equipment so now I have to bake more often to prove to her that yes mom, I do need four ceramic mixing bowls and that green spatula with a rabbit on it.

This blog is just a diary of all my creative adventures, whether it's sitting by the oven watching the crinkle cookies spread and crack or unpicking an entire sleeve with a seam ripper and grumbling all the while. If you're reading this because you love grandma hobbies like sewing and baking, or if you're reading this because you're bored and somehow stumbled across my blog, I hope you feel at home and find the time and energy to get back to your own hobbies that might have been shelved once life got in the way of things.

One day when I'm super successful and I'm hosting some fancy party to celebrate the launch of my own fashion label, I'm going to bake a giant tower of croquembouche and wrap it with the caramel threads that spun sugar makes and gold leaves, but for now, I hope you enjoy the journey with me.
